China presented the first-ever ATM with function of a face recognition

China presented the first-ever ATM with use of technology of a face recognition. The car will not give out cash to the user if his face does not pass check on compliance to identification number of the owner of a bank card. The biometric ATM is joint development of university of Tsinkhua and the technological company Tzekwan in the city of Hangchow, reports the Chinese news agency Xinhua.

The biometric ATM has the built-in chamber which photographs features of the user, and then compares them to images in the database. Developers say that the system looks at biological features of the person and can identify people even if their features underwent changes.

The chairman of board of directors of Tzekwan Gu Tszikun (Gu Zikun), the expert on anti-counterfeit technologies reported about fast availability of new ATMs in the market. However still it is not known, how the car will conduct collection of information and also who will make them.

Gu considers that new ATM cars will help police with fight against financial crimes, and also will allow to prevent unauthorized access to another’s bank accounts. Besides, when loading money the ATM writes down serial number of each banknote that means that the clients, trying to load into the ATM counterfeit money, will be identified.

It is reported that accuracy of check of the most different currencies on authenticity at the new ATM for 20 percent is higher in comparison with the average ATM which is used around the world.

ATM cars with use of biometric technologies are a subject of discussion within several last years. It is connected with aspiration of the technological companies to release of devices with functions of a face recognition, scanning of fingerprints and collecting other biometric information.

Nevertheless this technology still should be finished that will allow to raise level of its safety and to reduce use cost.
